The opportunity

As Head of History, the successful candidate will:

• Lead and develop a high-quality, ambitious History curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
• Provide strong subject leadership, supporting and inspiring colleagues within the department
• Use data, assessment and research-informed practice to drive progress and raise attainment
• Promote high expectations, inclusion and aspiration for all students
• Play an active role in the wider life and strategic direction of the school

Head of History – The ideal candidate

Aspire People is seeking a candidate who:

• Is a qualified History teacher with QTS and strong subject knowledge
• Has the ambition and capability to lead a department effectively
• Is reflective, resilient and committed to continuous improvement
• Works well collaboratively and communicates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
• Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

This role would suit an experienced teacher ready for subject leadership or an existing Head of History seeking a new challenge.
