Depending on the school and placement, responsibilities may include: - Delivering engaging Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4. - Teaching physical and human Geography, including climate, ecosystems, population, urbanisation and global development. - Supporting pupils studying GCSE Geography and preparing for examinations. - Planning and adapting lessons to suit pupils with different abilities and learning needs. - Maintaining positive classroom routines and managing behaviour effectively. - Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback where required. - Supporting Geography fieldwork and wider departmental activities where appropriate. - Delivering additional Humanities subjects where this matches your experience. For longer-term assignments, planning, marking, assessment and departmental responsibilities may be required. These are prospective opportunities across North Birmingham rather than a confirmed vacancy at one specific school. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are interested in teachers who have: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS. - A specialism in Geography and experience teaching within a secondary school. - Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Geography curriculum. - Confidence teaching GCSE Geography. - Effective classroom and behaviour management skills. - The ability to support mixed-ability classes, including pupils with SEND and EAL needs. - A professional, adaptable and reliable approach. Applications are welcomed from experienced Geography Teachers and Early Career Teachers. Experience teaching A-Level Geography or additional Humanities subjects would be advantageous for relevant assignments.
