Food Technology Teacher - Peterborough - Immediate Start
Aspire People are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in the Peterborough area with an immediate start.
This is a specialist Food Technology teaching position and is not a general cover role. We are therefore looking for a teacher with genuine experience of teaching Food Technology, Food Preparation and Nutrition or a closely related subject within a secondary school setting.
The school is looking for someone who can confidently take responsibility for their classes, deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons and provide pupils with consistency from the outset.
The role will involve:
- Teaching Food Technology / Food Preparation and Nutrition across the secondary age range
- Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory lessons
- Ensuring high standards of health, safety and hygiene within practical lessons
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively
- Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
- Working collaboratively with the department and wider school team
- Creating an inclusive learning environment where pupils can develop practical skills, independence and confidence
We are looking for:
- A Food Technology specialist with relevant secondary teaching experience
- QTS, QTLS or an appropriate teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge within Food Technology / Food Preparation and Nutrition
- Experience delivering practical food lessons
- Good knowledge of classroom health, safety and hygiene requirements
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A genuine passion for your subject and for supporting young people
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- References covering the required safeguarding period
The position is ideally full-time, although the school is happy to consider strong Food Technology specialists looking for part-time work.
