We are working on behalf of a well-regarded school to recruit an experienced Finance Manager who has proven experience working within a school or educational setting. This role is ideal for someone who understands school finance systems, budget pressures, and the importance of compliance within education. This is a key leadership role, supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team by overseeing the school's financial operations and ensuring funds are managed effectively to support student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day financial management of the school
  • Prepare, monitor, and report on school budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with ESFA, local authority, and audit requirements
  • Manage payroll, purchasing, and supplier payments
  • Produce clear financial reports for governors and senior leaders
  • Support strategic financial planning and funding decisions
  • Line-manage finance or admin staff where applicable

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous finance experience within a school or trust (essential)
  • Be confident working with school finance systems and education funding
  • Have strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls
  • Be highly organised, accurate, and able to work to strict deadlines
