Aspire People are recruiting Sports Coaches to support children and young people across primary and secondary schools. This is an ideal opportunity for a Sports Coach, Football Coach, PE Coach or Youth Worker who wants to use sport as a way of building positive relationships, improving behaviour and helping young people develop confidence and resilience. You do not need to have worked as a Teaching Assistant previously. We are interested in candidates with strong experience working with children and young people through sport, coaching, mentoring or youth work.
The Role:
- Using sport and physical activity to engage pupils
- Supporting pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs
- Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model
- Delivering sports and physical activity sessions
- Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring
- Supporting pupils with confidence, resilience and teamwork
- Helping pupils develop positive attitudes towards school and learning
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience as a Sports Coach, Football Coach, PE Coach, Youth Worker or similar
- Professional experience working with children or young people
- Confident managing groups and challenging behaviour
- Passionate about sport and youth development
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, energetic and resilient approach
- Able to use sport to engage pupils who may struggle in a traditional classroom
