This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality English lessons, inspiring a love of literature and language, and helping students achieve their full academic potential.
The successful candidate will be confident teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a strong understanding of the English curriculum and the ability to create engaging, challenging and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of learners of all abilities.
As an English Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across the secondary age range.
- Teaching English Language and English Literature, preparing students for GCSE examinations.
- Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress to ensure positive outcomes.
- Creating a stimulating classroom environment that promotes participation, confidence and a love of learning.
- Differentiating lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning needs.
- Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the continued success of the English department.
- Supporting the wider school community and upholding the school's values and expectations.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching English within a UK secondary school.
- Strong subject knowledge across English Language and English Literature.
- Experience teaching GCSE English and preparing students for examinations.
- Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to plan creative, differentiated and engaging lessons.
- A genuine passion for improving student progress, attainment and confidence.
- A professional, proactive and collaborative approach to teaching.
