We are currently seeking proactive and experienced SEN Science and Maths Teachers to join a supportive SEMH school in Bedford. The school caters to learners aged 7 to 19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those who have been excluded or suspended from mainstream settings. We are looking for a teacher who wants to take a more personalized approach to learning, enjoy smaller classes, and branch out of the 'normal'. We need someone who is ready to say yes and give new experiences a go to help re‑engage our learners with education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Science and Maths lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
- Manage challenging behaviours effectively with a positive and understanding approach.
- Support learners' communication needs.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Requirements
- Experience teaching in a Primary/Secondary setting and confident in planning and delivering maths and science lessons at KS2 level.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management.
- Experience with SEMH learners is desirable but not required.
- Must hold QTS or proven extensive long‑term experience as a cover supervisor in the UK.
- Passion about supporting learners who struggle in a mainstream setting.
