A forward-thinking and dynamic school in Oldham is seeking committed Exam Invigilators to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to contribute to creating a safe, well-maintained, and effective learning environment for students and staff.

We are seeking individuals to assist with exam invigilation and also to support students with access arrangements which could include being a 'reader' and a 'scribe'.

Contract: Seasonal

Hours of work: Dependant on the school's exam timetable

Main Duties:

  • Supporting Invigilators are responsible for facilitating the smooth running of examinations and ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
  • Working as part of a team to prepare the examination venue to ensure that all examinations start promptly.
  • Working as part of a team to invigilate the exam, including checking and reconciliation of attendance slips and conducting random checks of student ID.
  • Working as part of a team to collate examination answer booklets and other materials at the end of the exam in a timely, accurate and efficient way.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience of working in an educational setting, preferably as an Exam Invigilator.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to work independently but also the judgment to seek advice when necessary.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • The ability to deal with challenging situations in a sensitive yet firm manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and confidentiality protocols in an educational setting.

Experience:

  • Exam Invigilation experience: 1 year (desirable)
  • Working within a school environment: 1 year (desirable)
