We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed Economics Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring teacher who is passionate about developing students' understanding of the business world and economics while encouraging high levels of achievement across Key Stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Business Studies and Economics lessons that cater to students of varying abilities.
  • Teach Business Studies across Key Stages, with the ability to teach Economics being highly desirable.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour and a love of learning.
  • Monitor, assess and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Differentiating lesson content to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support or challenge.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed.
  • Develop high-quality lesson resources that align with the national curriculum and examination board specifications.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and educational technology to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department to share best practice and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Attend departmental meetings, parents' evenings, staff meetings and school training sessions as required.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and carers to support academic achievement and personal development.
  • Uphold the school's safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students at all times.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, intervention sessions or extracurricular opportunities where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience teaching Business Studies within a secondary school setting or further education.
  • The ability or experience to teach Economics is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and inspire young people.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and professional conduct.
  • A passion for helping students achieve their academic potential.
