Are you passionate about supporting early years education and helping young children thrive in their first year of school? A welcoming primary school in Altrincham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team from September 2025 through July 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Supporting the class teacher and pupils in a Reception classroom
  • Helping deliver engaging, play-based learning activities
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support as needed
  • Supporting children with early reading, phonics, and social development
  • Assisting with daily routines, including snack time, outdoor play, and classroom transitions

Qualifications

  • Experience working with EYFS-aged children (preferred)
  • A positive, nurturing, and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
  • A genuine interest in supporting children's learning and wellbeing
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare are desirable but not essential
