SEN Teaching Assistant - Reception Classroom (Full Time)

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs in the early years of their education? A nurturing and inclusive primary school in Rochdale is looking for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their Reception classroom from September 2025 to December 2025, the school will be looking to take the Teaching Assistant onto a perm contract from Jan 2026.
The Role:
Full-time, term-time only: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Working within a Reception classroom to support children with a range of special educational needs (SEN)
Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning and developmental needs
Assisting with early learning activities including phonics, speech and language support, and social skills
Helping children with classroom routines, sensory regulation, and transitions throughout the day
Collaborating closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans
What We\'re Looking For:
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in an EYFS setting (desirable)
A calm, patient, and caring approach
Strong communication and observation skills
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young children
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or childcare are an advantage
