About the Role

We are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have additional learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Encourage independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Help monitor and record student progress.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all pupils.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
