Aspire People are recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools across Didsbury and the surrounding area. We work in partnership with a range of local primary schools, including maintained community schools and schools within supportive Multi-Academy Trusts, who are looking for committed individuals to provide long-term support for pupils with additional needs and barriers to learning. These are full-time, long-term positions, typically continuing for the duration of the academic year, giving you the opportunity to become a consistent part of the school community and make a genuine difference to the pupils you support. The Role You could be working 1:1, with small groups or providing additional support within the classroom, depending on the needs of identified pupils. Pupils may have needs including: Autism / ASD Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ADHD Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Emotional regulation difficulties Wider barriers to learning and engagement Your role will be centred around helping pupils access learning, build confidence and independence and reach their true potential. This could include supporting: Engagement and participation within the classroom Attainment gaps through targeted 1:1 and small-group work Communication and interaction Emotional regulation and positive behaviour Confidence, independence and relationships with education Access to learning through adapted activities and individualised support You will work closely with class teachers, SENDCOs and wider school teams, responding flexibly to the needs of the pupils you support. Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for people who have previous experience working with children or young people, either within a school, nursery, childcare, private or voluntary setting. You don't necessarily need extensive classroom experience, but you must be able to demonstrate relevant experience working with children and a genuine passion for SEND and inclusive education.
