Here at Aspire People, we are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Corby. The successful candidate will have experience supporting pupils with complex medical needs and be confident providing care in a school environment.

The Role

You will work closely with teaching staff, healthcare professionals and families to provide high-quality educational and personal care support to pupils with a range of additional needs. The role will include supporting pupils who may require enteral feeding via a pump and oxygen therapy, alongside their educational, personal and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and complex needs.
  • Safely support pupils requiring pump feeding in line with their individual healthcare plans.
  • Support pupils who require oxygen.
  • Monitor pupils' wellbeing and report any concerns promptly.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility where required.
  • Support pupils to access learning and participate fully in school life.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, healthcare professionals and families.
  • Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures and individual care plans.
  • Promote pupils' independence, dignity, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

About You

  • Experienced in working with children or young people with SEN and/or complex medical needs.
  • Confident and experienced with pump feeding and oxygen support.
  • Caring, patient and calm in challenging situations.
  • Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Willing to undertake any additional training required by the school.
  • Healthcare experience is essential for this role, particularly experience with pump feeding and oxygen.
