We are looking for a highly organised and proactive HR Administrator to join our friendly and supportive School Trust team. Based primarily at our central office, you will provide effective HR and administrative support across the Trust, with travel to a couple of our schools as required. This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys working with people, is confident handling confidential information and has excellent attention to detail. There will also be some involvement in finance and payroll administration, although previous finance experience is not essential as training and support can be provided. This is a temporary role working 8-4 Monday - Thursday and 8-3:30 on a Friday. To start ASAP and running until at least Christmas. There may be the option of a permanent position but that is not guaranteed.
Key responsibilities
- Providing general administrative support to the HR function and schools across the Trust
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems
- Supporting the recruitment process, including preparing adverts, arranging interviews and completing pre-employment checks
- Assisting with new starter and leaver processes
- Preparing HR documentation, letters and contracts
- Supporting managers and staff with general HR queries
- Monitoring and maintaining records relating to sickness absence, annual leave and other employee information
- Assisting with payroll administration and providing relevant information to the payroll team
- Supporting basic finance administration, such as processing invoices, checking information and maintaining records
- Producing reports and maintaining accurate spreadsheets and databases
- Ensuring HR processes and documentation are completed accurately and on time
- Liaising with staff, school leaders and external providers when required
- Providing administrative support for meetings, training and other HR-related activities
- Travelling occasionally to other schools within the Trust to provide on-site support
About you
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Able to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- A strong communicator who is comfortable dealing with staff at all levels
- Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Reliable, professional and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous HR or school administration experience would be advantageous, but is not essential
- Some experience of finance or payroll administration would be beneficial, but is not essential
