We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager / Room Leader to join a friendly nursery team in Camden. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about providing high-quality care and education for children, while supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery and helping to lead a team of passionate practitioners.

The Role

As Deputy Nursery Manager / Room Leader, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the setting, maintain high standards of care, and create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Nursery Manager with the daily running of the nursery
  • Leading and supporting a room team to deliver outstanding early years practice
  • Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Planning and providing engaging activities based on children's individual needs and interests
  • Ensuring the EYFS framework is followed and high standards are maintained
  • Supporting staff development, mentoring, and team wellbeing
  • Taking responsibility for safeguarding, health and safety, and quality standards
  • Acting as a positive role model for the wider nursery team

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
  • Has experience working in a nursery setting, ideally with leadership responsibilities
  • Has a strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures
  • Is confident supporting and motivating a team
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Is passionate about giving children the best possible start in life
  • Can bring creativity, energy, and a positive attitude to the role
