Location: Burton Latimer, Kettering, Northamptonshire.

Contract Type: Full-Time

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary: Competitive, based on experience.

Start Date: ASAP (or ideally after notice period for the right candidate)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for students with a variety of SEN, both in and outside the classroom, as well as supporting as a main classroom TA.
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning plans and activities that meet the needs of individual students.
  • Support children in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Help students with personal care when required.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to track progress and support students' development.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment, helping students to feel confident and engaged in their learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers about student progress and well-being.

Key Skills & Experience / Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, particularly supporting students with high SEN needs, is essential.
  • A good understanding of SEN strategies and approaches, including experience with ASD, ADHD, and other complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour and provide a positive learning environment.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy and varied school environment.
  • A full driving license and access to a car is essential for this role due to the school's location and needs.
