Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant (3 Days per Week)

Schedule: Part-time (3 days per week, Wednesday - Friday)

Overview

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Year 1/2 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and dedicated primary school in Burntwood. Responsibilities

• Support the teaching and learning of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, helping to create a stimulating and inclusive classroom.
• Work closely with the class teacher to implement learning activities, assess student progress, and assist with classroom management.

Expectations of the Successful Candidate

• Experience working in a primary school setting, particularly in Key Stage 1.
• Ability to support and assist children both individually and in small groups.
• A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Ability to develop and implement interventions to support the learning of children who may require additional support.
• Be proactive in supporting students with their social and emotional development.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.
• An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and child protection.

What is Required

• Experience in supporting children in an educational environment, preferably in a teaching assistant role.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be beneficial.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• A caring and enthusiastic approach to working with children.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
