We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Northfield. The school is ideally looking for a fully qualified teacher, but would also be very happy to consider strong Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who demonstrate confidence, adaptability, and a positive approach to teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Full class teaching responsibility for a Year 1 cohort
  • Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
  • Creating a supportive and well-structured learning environment
  • Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, phase colleagues, and senior leaders
  • Maintaining strong behaviour management and positive relationships with pupils

Ideal Candidate

  • Hold QTS (or be working towards it, in the case of ECTs)
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (desirable but not essential)
  • Be reflective, organised, and enthusiastic about pupil progress
  • Demonstrate good classroom and behaviour management
  • Be committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • For ECTs: show strong potential, willingness to learn, and confidence in the classroom
