Aspire People are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive primary school in Quinton. This rewarding role will involve working within the school's Resource Base, supporting a small group of pupils with additional needs and helping them successfully access both specialist and mainstream provision throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will support five pupils within the Resource Base during the mornings, delivering targeted interventions and structured learning activities. In the afternoons, you will work on a 1:1 basis with these pupils within their mainstream classrooms, helping them integrate successfully into class-based learning and supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
The Role
- Full-time HLTA position
- Supporting five pupils with additional needs within the Resource Base each morning
- Delivering planned interventions and small-group learning activities
- Working closely with teaching staff to support pupils' individual learning targets
- Providing 1:1 support within mainstream classrooms during the afternoons
- Promoting inclusion and helping pupils access the wider curriculum
- Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, parents, and external agencies where required
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Hold a HLTA qualification or have substantial experience working at HLTA level
- Have experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD and communication needs
- Be confident leading small-group learning and delivering targeted interventions
- Have a strong understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to support pupils with additional needs
- Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with children, staff, and families
- Be patient, adaptable, and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential
- Have excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
