About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive specialist school in Moseley. As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver engaging, highly personalised lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with complex SEND. You will work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external professionals to implement EHCP outcomes, promote independence, and support students in achieving their full potential. Many students require support with communication, sensory regulation, physical development, and daily living skills. The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary environment and contributing to a holistic approach to education and care.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching students with complex SEND, including Autism, SLD, PMLD, and associated communication needs
- Understanding of personalised learning approaches and adapting lessons to meet a wide range of abilities
- Experience working alongside support staff to meet students' educational, physical, and personal care needs
- A patient, nurturing, and compassionate approach to supporting learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with families and external professionals
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing, dignity, and independence of all students
Desirable (but not essential):
- Additional SEND qualifications (e.g. PGCE in SEND, Level 5 or Level 7 in Special Education)
- Experience working with EHCPs and outcome-focused planning
- Knowledge of alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, AAC devices, or Intensive Interaction
- Experience supporting students with personal care, mobility needs, feeding programmes, or medical requirements
- Understanding of sensory integration and therapeutic approaches to learning
