We are currently looking for dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team in schools across the Birmingham area. Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Dyslexia, and other learning disabilities.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and support teachers in delivering inclusive and differentiated lessons.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting emotional and social development.
- Help with the assessment of students' progress and report on their achievements to teachers and parents.
- Offer emotional and behavioural support, helping students build confidence and self-esteem.
- Work closely with other staff, including SENCOs, teachers, and external agencies, to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Key Requirements
- A degree in Psychology (or related field) is essential.
- Experience working with children or young adults, especially those with SEN, is desirable but not required.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the individual needs of students.
