An SEND school in South Birmingham are seeking a dedicated and inspiring SEND English Teacher to join their English Department. Working with learners aged 16 and over, you'll be teaching English at Entry Levels 1, 2, and 3, as well as Functional Skills Levels 1 and 2, helping students gain essential skills for independent adult life, employment, and further education.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Delivering engaging, differentiated English lessons tailored to a variety of learning needs and styles.
- Supporting students to achieve accreditation in Entry Level and Functional Skills qualifications.
- Embedding life skills and communication into your teaching to prepare learners for adulthood.
- Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families to create individualised learning plans.
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where all learners can thrive.
We are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
- Has experience teaching students with SEND, particularly those with moderate to complex needs.
- Understands the Post-16 education landscape, including Preparation for Adulthood outcomes.
- Is creative, adaptable, and committed to inclusive, learner-centred education.
- Brings a warm, positive approach and high expectations for every learner's progress and wellbeing.
