Aspire People is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Early Years Teacher for a maternity cover position at a welcoming primary school in Druids Heath. This role will commence after the October half‑term break in 2026 and continue through to the end of the academic year in July 2027. The successful candidate will be responsible for a blended Nursery and Reception class, supporting children who are currently working within Band 0 and have significant learning and developmental needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about early childhood development and skilled in adapting learning to meet a wide range of needs.
Responsibilities
- Full‑time Early Years Teacher position
- Maternity cover from October 2026 to July 2027
- Teaching a blended Nursery and Reception class
- Supporting pupils with high levels of learning and developmental needs
- Planning and delivering engaging, child‑centred learning experiences
- Working closely with support staff and school leadership to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
Qualifications
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Be confident in adapting provision for children with varying developmental needs
- Have strong knowledge of child development and early learning
- Be patient, nurturing, and committed to inclusive practice
- Have experience with, or knowledge of, the Little Wandle phonics programme (desirable but not essential)
