Aspire People is seeking a compassionate and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support a school in Balsall Heath on a long-term, full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with a Level 3 Counselling qualification or NMC-related experience who wants to make a meaningful impact on young people facing behavioural and emotional challenges. A nursing pin is not required.
Role Overview
- Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour and emotional support
- Use counselling-informed approaches to help pupils regulate emotions
- Support students with challenging behaviour, anxiety, trauma, or SEMH needs
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Contribute to behaviour plans, wellbeing interventions, and progress reviews
- Promote a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Counselling Level 3 qualification or NMC experience (no pin needed)
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Ability to motivate and engage pupils who may be disengaged
- A team-focused attitude with excellent communication skills
