We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join our dedicated school administration team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance and punctuality, working closely with students, families, and staff to ensure safeguarding and compliance with school policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, track, and analyse pupil attendance and punctuality using BROMCOM (essential)
- Follow up on student absences, including first-day calling and ongoing absence tracking
- Liaise with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns in a professional and supportive manner
- Produce attendance reports for senior leaders, pastoral teams, and external agencies
- Support attendance panels, meetings, and referrals where required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records in line with statutory guidance
- Work closely with safeguarding and pastoral teams to identify and support vulnerable pupils
- Ensure compliance with school attendance policies and Department for Education requirements
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Proven experience using BROMCOM for attendance management (essential)
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
- Strong understanding of attendance legislation and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High levels of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality
