We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join our dedicated school administration team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance and punctuality, working closely with students, families, and staff to ensure safeguarding and compliance with school policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, track, and analyse pupil attendance and punctuality using BROMCOM (essential)
  • Follow up on student absences, including first-day calling and ongoing absence tracking
  • Liaise with parents/carers regarding attendance concerns in a professional and supportive manner
  • Produce attendance reports for senior leaders, pastoral teams, and external agencies
  • Support attendance panels, meetings, and referrals where required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records in line with statutory guidance
  • Work closely with safeguarding and pastoral teams to identify and support vulnerable pupils
  • Ensure compliance with school attendance policies and Department for Education requirements

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Proven experience using BROMCOM for attendance management (essential)
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
  • Strong understanding of attendance legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
