Manchester Full-Time Aspire People is working closely with a supportive primary school in Manchester who are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 4 pupil presenting with significant behavioural and emotional needs. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is calm, resilient, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Responsibilities
- Providing consistent 1:1 behaviour support throughout the school day
- Supporting a pupil with complex behavioural needs within the classroom
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
- Supporting learning tasks to keep the pupil engaged and regulated
- Recording behaviour, progress, and successful interventions
What we’re looking for
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or challenging behaviour
- Remains calm, patient, and proactive in high-pressure situations
- Has First Aid training (or is willing to complete this)
- Is Team-Teach trained or open to undertaking training
- Communicates confidently with staff and professionals
- Is committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
