Are you a compassionate and proactive individual with a passion for supporting children with behavioural challenges?
About the RoleAspire People are looking for an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work in a primary school in Hinckley. In this role, you will be providing 1:1 support to a child who requires assistance in managing their behaviour and improving their attention span in class.
Responsibilities
Providing 1:1 support to a child with behavioural difficulties, focusing on improving attention and managing behaviour
Using de-escalation techniques to help the child stay calm and engaged in lessons
Implementing personalised behaviour strategies to encourage positive outcomes and emotional regulation
Supporting the child with social skills development and fostering positive relationships with peers
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed
Helping the child feel more confident and included in classroom activities
Recording observations and progress and providing feedback to the teaching team
Requirements
Previous experience working in a UK school, ideally in a behaviour or SEN role
Experience supporting children with behaviour challenges, ideally in a 1:1 capacity
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies
A calm, empathetic approach and the ability to remain patient in challenging situations
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude and the ability to think on your feet to support the child effectively
