About the Role
Aspire People are looking for an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work in a primary school in Hinckley. In this role, you will be providing 1:1 support to a child who requires assistance in managing their behaviour and improving their attention span in class.
- Providing 1:1 support to a child with behavioural difficulties, focusing on improving attention and managing behaviour
- Using de-escalation techniques to help the child stay calm and engaged in lessons
- Implementing personalised behaviour strategies to encourage positive outcomes and emotional regulation
- Supporting the child with social skills development and fostering positive relationships with peers
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed
- Helping the child feel more confident and included in classroom activities
- Recording observations and progress and providing feedback to the teaching team
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a UK school, ideally in a behaviour or SEN role
- Experience supporting children with behaviour challenges, ideally in a 1:1 capacity
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies
- A calm, empathetic approach and the ability to remain patient in challenging situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive attitude and the ability to think on your feet to support the child effectively
