Aspire People are recruiting for an IT Technician to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The school has invested heavily in its IT infrastructure and has been recognised as an Apple Distinguished School, with a modern hybrid IT environment incorporating Microsoft, Apple and ChromeOS technologies.
This is an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys providing hands‑on technical support and wants to work in an environment where technology plays a central role in teaching and learning.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Providing day‑to‑day IT support to teachers, support staff and pupils
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
- Providing technical support both in person and remotely
- Installing, configuring and maintaining IT equipment and systems
- Supporting Microsoft, macOS, iOS and Google Workspace platforms
- Supporting the school's 1:1 iPad programme
- Assisting with the management and maintenance of IT assets and equipment
- Supporting network performance and security
- Providing technical support for the school's Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Assisting with the school's website and digital systems
- Supporting the effective use of technology across teaching and learning
The IT Environment
The school operates a varied technology environment, including:
- Microsoft Windows PCs
- Apple Mac and iOS devices
- ChromeOS
- Google Workspace
- iPads
- Apple TV and classroom display technology
- School MIS and network infrastructure
We're Looking For
- Previous experience in an IT support, IT technician or similar technical role
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Confident supporting users with different levels of technical ability
- Experience with Microsoft and/or Apple environments
- Good understanding of hardware, software and network systems
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Organised, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience working within a school or education environment would be desirable
- Enhanced DBS for Children on the DBS Update Service
