Aspire People is seeking an experienced Autism Support Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rochdale on a full-time basis. This role will involve providing dedicated support for pupils with autism, helping them access learning, develop communication skills and successfully engage in school life. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of autism and can provide consistent, structured support tailored to individual needs.
You will work closely with one or more pupils with autism throughout the school day, helping them manage routines, transitions and classroom expectations. Some pupils may require support with communication, emotional regulation and sensory needs, while others may benefit from assistance developing social skills and independence. The school is looking for a calm, patient and confident individual who can build positive relationships whilst maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.
