About the Role

Working with a small group of students, you will deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence in science, while supporting pupils' personal and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a broad and balanced Science curriculum tailored to individual learning needs
  • Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
  • Build positive relationships with students to support their SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches accordingly

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred - but we welcome applications from unqualified teachers with relevant experience
  • Experience or strong interest in working with SEMH, autism and/or behavioural needs
  • Strong classroom management skills and a trauma-informed approach
  • Passion for Science and creative, flexible teaching methods
  • Empathy, resilience and a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable young people
