Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a child with SEN in the classroom.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering individualized learning plans and strategies.
- Help manage and promote positive behaviour in the classroom.
- Support the child in accessing the curriculum and ensure they are fully engaged.
- Monitor and track the child's progress, working closely with the SENCO and other staff.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment for the child's emotional and social development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members to ensure the child's needs are met.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (ideally within a school environment).
- A patient, understanding, and flexible approach to supporting children with additional needs.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- An understanding of child development and the specific needs of children with SEN.
- A willingness to undergo relevant training to develop knowledge and skills further.
- An enhanced DBS check (required before employment).
