We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Aspire. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping our students with diverse learning needs thrive in an inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group support for students with SEN
- Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Help students access the curriculum, ensuring they achieve their full potential
- Support the classroom teacher in managing the classroom and fostering a positive learning environment
- Encourage students' social and emotional development, helping them build self-confidence and independence
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting
- A genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students
- An understanding of various SEN conditions, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities
- A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Experience with the use of assistive technology and learning aids
