We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Aspire. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping our students with diverse learning needs thrive in an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group support for students with SEN
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Help students access the curriculum, ensuring they achieve their full potential
  • Support the classroom teacher in managing the classroom and fostering a positive learning environment
  • Encourage students' social and emotional development, helping them build self-confidence and independence
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students
  • An understanding of various SEN conditions, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities
  • A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
