Are you looking for an environment that will help you flourish and progress into a bright future?Have you always wanted to help and support those with learning difficulties?Feel that each child deserves the opportunities, patience, and empathy to thrive in education, and once they leave?The this school might be the perfect fit for you.Here at Apsire People, we support an independent SEN School in the Royston area of Hertfordshire (SG8) with finding the right teaching assistant's and teaching staff.The position is full-time, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 16:30pm and is a term-time position only.The school grounds sits on acres of land and offers generous space for all their students. The school currently caters for students aged 5-16 who have an educational health care plan. Most of the students have a diagnosis of ASD, ADHD and other physical disabilities.The role is challenging, yet incredibly rewarding!The role includes, and is not limited to the below:Support students' learning, development, and progress across all areas of the curriculum, in a variety of settings (in the classroom, in the local environment, in the community).Help young people with a range of needs - including PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, physical and sensory impairments, complex medical needs - to achieve their educational and personal goals.Participate in physical interventions when needed (behaviour that challenges; managing transitions; de-escalation, etc.).Help students with sensory issues - helping them manage sensory overload; using space, resources, calm environment or break-out sensory areas.Promote emotional wellbeing: support low self-esteem, anxiety, confidence building.Assist with behaviour management: maintaining high behavioural expectations; intervening or supporting during difficult or challenging behaviours; keeping records of behaviour / incidents.Once a successful trial period has been completed with Aspire People, all teaching assistant's will be transferred onto the permanent contract where they will be enrolled onto a two-week induction course learning Makaton, sensory learning tools, managing risk assessments, PRICE training, Lego therapy and more!If this role sounds like something you would be interested in, then please apply today with an up to date CV.Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business.
