Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school in Northampton seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to deliver tailored learning and intervention programmes.
- Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
- Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting.
- Is patient, caring, resilient, and adaptable.
- Has a good understanding of a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can work effectively as part of a wider school team.
