SEND / SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?Aspire People are working with a range of primary schools and specialist provisions seeking compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs.

The Role As a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.
Support children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, sensory needs and behavioural challenges.
Implement personalised learning and behaviour support strategies.
Support emotional regulation using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs and external professionals.
We Are Looking For Previous experience supporting children with SEND or SEMH, either in schools, care, youth work or similar settings.
A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning.
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children.
