About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting supporting children and young people with complex and high-level special educational needs. The pupils have significant and varied needs requiring a teacher who can adapt their approach, build strong relationships, and create a positive learning environment where every student can succeed. The pupils have needs such as: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC); Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD); Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD); Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs; Communication and sensory needs; Trauma.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored lessons that meet individual EHCP targets
- Support pupils with complex and challenging needs
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records
- Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and wellbeing
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with SEN pupils is desirable
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Must drive and have a clean licence
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
