We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Southwark. You will work closely with the Science department to support the delivery of engaging and effective lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience and make a real difference in students' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing and delivering science lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand complex concepts.
  • Support with the setup and maintenance of Science equipment and experiments.
  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to the science department.

Requirements:

  • A UK degree in a Science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for education and working with young people.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Previous experience working in a school or with young people is essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to obtain a DBS.
