Aspire People are currently recruiting for a bank of experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistants to support schools across Rochdale. We have long-term opportunities available immediately and for September 2026 within both mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions. The Role

As an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) across a range of educational settings. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, parents, and wider support staff to provide a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment tailored to each student's individual needs.

You may support students with:

  • PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)
  • High-functioning autism
  • Non-verbal communication needs
  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • References covering the last 2 years
