Aspire People are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Middleton. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a Year 1 pupil with autism and additional complex needs.
You will be working closely with the pupil to assist in their learning, emotional development, and everyday classroom activities. If you are dedicated to helping children succeed and thrive, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:- Offer dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Assist with classwork and learning tasks assigned by the teacher
- Help foster communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
- Support the pupil during transitions and maintain routine structure
- Provide personal care when necessary
- Follow and implement strategies set by the teacher and SENCO
- Track progress and offer feedback to school staff
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Adhere to safeguarding policies at all times
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience working in a UK primary school
- Experience supporting children with autism and additional needs
- Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience in a 1:1 support role
- Autism-specific training or expertise
- Team Teach or behaviour management training
- Good understanding of SEN support strategies
