The Role
- Lead and oversee the strategic development of SEND provision
- Identify and assess pupils with special educational needs
- Coordinate EHCP processes and annual reviews
- Support staff with effective differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies
- Monitor pupil progress and ensure appropriate interventions are in place
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals
- Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and statutory requirements
- Promote an inclusive culture across the school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete)
- Proven experience working within a SENCO or SEND leadership role
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A child-centred and collaborative approach
- The ability to lead, inspire, and support colleagues effectively
