We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed Primary SEND Teacher to join a specialist school located in Northampton. This role offers an opportunity to deliver outstanding education for children with special educational needs and disabilities, creating a positive, engaging, and highly supportive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess, monitor and track pupil progress effectively
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals
- Develop and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Contribute to the wider life of the academy and ongoing curriculum development
Qualifications and Experience
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within a primary or specialist setting
- Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and strong behaviour management skills
- Is patient, adaptable and resilient
- Has a passion for inclusive education and pupil-centered learning
- Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
