Aspire People are seeking passionate Child Psychology Graduates to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs across a range of schools in Manchester.
This role would suit someone who is particularly interested in child development, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis
- Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies
- Supporting behaviour plans and individual support strategies
- Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils
- Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence
- Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
- Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and SENCOs
- Recording observations and feeding back on pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate:
- A degree in Child Psychology, Psychology, Education, or a related subject
- A strong interest in SEMH, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Confident communication and strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain composed when supporting challenging behaviour
- A genuine commitment to helping pupils reach their potential
