How to prepare for a job interview at Aspire People Limited

Know Your SEND Stuff

Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Familiarise yourself with different types of needs, such as SEMH, and think about how you can support children with these challenges. This will show that you're not just qualified but genuinely passionate about making a difference.

Showcase Your Experience

Prepare to discuss your previous roles in detail, especially any experience as a Teaching Assistant, support worker, or in similar positions. Use specific examples to illustrate how you've successfully supported children in the past, particularly in 1-1 settings. This will help the interviewer see how you can bring value to their team.

Be Ready for Scenario Questions

Expect questions that ask how you would handle specific situations, like managing challenging behaviour or providing personal care. Think through some scenarios beforehand and have a few strategies ready to share. This will demonstrate your problem-solving skills and readiness for the role.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask questions! Inquire about the school's approach to SEND, the support available for staff, or how they measure success in their teaching assistants. This shows your interest in the role and helps you determine if it's the right fit for you.
