Pay: Β£105 per day
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, term time only

Aspire People have partnered with a specialist SEN school in Hinckley who are looking for a passionate and experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and who understands the importance of creating a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.

About the Role

As an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have autism and a range of associated additional needs. You will play a key role in supporting their learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and personal development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism
  • Supporting pupils to access learning and develop their independence
  • Using appropriate strategies to support communication and interaction
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and regulate their behaviour
  • Creating a calm, consistent and structured environment
  • Supporting pupils with sensory needs and individual learning plans
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging confidence, independence and positive engagement in school

We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with autism - essential
  • A good understanding of ASC and associated needs
  • Experience using strategies to support communication, behaviour and emotional regulation
  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach
  • The ability to remain resilient and consistent in challenging situations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
  • The commitment to work Monday-Friday, term time only
