Aspire People are working in partnership with a large SEND School in Stockport, SK2. SLT are looking for candidates with a Sports Coaching background to work as a Teaching Assistant with a number of identified pupils. The school is a SEND School, with a diverse pupil intake, supporting pupils with a range of needs including Social Emotional Mental Health needs.

Pupils may exhibit behaviours that challenge, so potential candidates need to be confident supporting those with SEMH needs, be resilient in their approach, and committed and passionate about understanding the 'bigger picture'. Pupils follow a curriculum pathway and need support to engage, regulate their emotions, and address sensory needs.

This role is an ideal opportunity for those who have experience as a Sports Coach or Youth Worker, as a natural ability to build relationships with pupils who may be resistant to education is essential and will really help you excel in this role. Training is provided by the school on specific interventions, but a passion and commitment for supporting vulnerable pupils to help them reach their true potential is essential.

This is a full-time role, 08:20 to 15:30 Monday to Friday term time only, on an ongoing basis starting in September, with the opportunity for permanent employment in the future.
