Year 6 Teacher / Year Group Lead – Primary School B42, Birmingham. September 2026. Full‑time term time only. Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Lead the Year 6 team, supporting colleagues and contributing to effective year‑group planning.
- Prepare pupils for SATs while maintaining a broad, engaging and enjoyable curriculum.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, ensuring every child is supported to reach their full potential.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders, colleagues and parents to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) mandatory.
- Proven experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
- Previous leadership experience or ambition to step into a Year Group Lead role.
- Strong classroom management skills and high expectations for behaviour and learning.
- Confident, resilient and approachable leader who leads by example.
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
- Genuine passion for helping children succeed academically and personally.
