Aspire People is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the Resource Base of a welcoming primary school in Druids Heath. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of complex needs, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), within a specialist Resource Base provision. The Resource Base caters for up to 24 pupils and provides a structured, nurturing environment designed to help children achieve their individual academic, social and emotional goals.
The Role
- Full‑time Teaching Assistant position within the school's Resource Base
- Supporting pupils with complex ASD and additional learning needs
- Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning activities and interventions
- Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Promoting independence and positive engagement in learning
- Working collaboratively with the wider SEND team and class staff
- Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions and less structured times throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate
- Have experience supporting children with ASD and/or complex additional needs
- Be patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
- Have a good understanding of strategies that support children with communication and sensory needs
- Be committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Be passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential
- Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or have equivalent experience (desirable but not essential)
This position would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEND Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant or anyone with a genuine passion for supporting children with complex additional needs.
