Aspire People is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or an accomplished Level 3 Teaching Assistant with strong phonics intervention experience to join a welcoming primary school in North Liverpool from September 2026.This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive and inclusive school that is committed to helping every child reach their full potential. You will play a key role in improving pupils' confidence, reading ability, and overall progress through targeted phonics and literacy interventions.The RoleAs a HLTA, you will: Deliver engaging phonics and literacy interventions to small groups of pupils. Lead structured intervention sessions independently, supporting children with a range of learning needs and abilities. Use evidence-based phonics programmes, such as Read Write Inc. or similar, to close learning gaps and accelerate progress. Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to plan, monitor, and evaluate pupil progress. Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive. Provide regular feedback to staff and pupils, helping to celebrate success and identify next steps. Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and a love of learning.What We're Looking ForWe're keen to hear from candidates who have: HLTA status, or a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification with proven experience delivering interventions. Excellent knowledge of phonics, with experience using Read Write Inc. or another recognised phonics programme. Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with varying learning needs. The confidence to lead intervention groups independently and use initiative. Strong communication and organisational skills, with a flexible and proactive approach. A genuine passion for helping children develop their literacy skills and confidence. Two professional references.
